KENYA | ZANZIBAR 11 DAYS

Together as a group, we’ll embark on an expedition to explore the hidden beauty this incredible country has to offer, all while giving back to the land and its people. We can’t emphasize enough that these experiences will leave you returning home with greater clarity about your life’s purpose and spiritually recharged, truly making it an adventure that will change your life.
Upon arriving in Nairobi, we’ll check in at the hotel and begin our journey with a warm welcome. After settling into our rooms, we will do a Meet & Greet session. This will be a perfect time to connect with our fellow travelers, discuss the itinerary, share expectations, and offer travel tips. Our trip leaders will outline the upcoming adventures, and you can choose to either enjoy a night out and turn up at a local club or opt for a quieter evening to combat jet lag. The choice is yours, and we’re here to make sure you kick off your journey on a high note, building connections and embracing the exciting days ahead.
After breakfast, we’ll begin our day at Nairobi National Park, where we’ll witness Africa’s iconic animals awakening, emerging from the bushes and searching for food and water against the backdrop of the city skyline. Next, we’ll visit the Giraffe Centre, providing us the opportunity to get up close and personal with these gentle giants. We’ll conclude our day by immersing ourselves in art and history at the Nairobi Gallery, where Kenyan art and heritage come to life. Day 2 promises a day filled with incredible experiences.
After having breakfast and checking out of our accommodation in Nairobi, we will embark on our journey to Nakuru, which is approximately a 3-4 hour drive from Nairobi. Upon our arrival, we will check in at our Nakuru accommodation. Following that, we will visit Ascend Education, an innovative childcare and education facility that supports underprivileged children in Kenya. This initiative is closely partnered with Jordan Minns’ non-profit organization known as Lov Movement. During our visit, we will gain insight into the school’s mission, engage with students, assist teachers, and get acquainted with the local staff. Our primary aim for the day is to contribute our time and skills to be of service to the community.
After enjoying breakfast at our accommodations in Nakuru, our driver will take us back to Ascend Education, where we will immerse ourselves in the vibrant atmosphere with the local children and community. Our journey will take us deep into the inner city, often referred to as the trenches or slums, which is the hometown of these beautiful resilient kids. There, we will engage with the local families and residents, creating connections and simply being present to offer our support and service. This day is about embracing the heart of Nakuru and its wonderful people.
After breakfast at our Nakuru accommodation, we will check out and embark on a scenic 5-6 hour drive from Nakuru to Maasai Mara, where we will be staying during your Maasai Mara adventure. In the evening, we will immerse ourselves in the authentic Maasai culture by exploring the local tribe, understanding their customs, traditions, and way of life. We’ll learn about their rich heritage and engage with the Maasai people to gain a deeper understanding of their unique culture. Finally, we will enjoy a delightful dinner at our Maasai Mara accommodation or at a local restaurant, savoring both the local cuisine and the unique cultural experience of the Maasai Mara.
We will start our morning with breakfast at our Maasai Mara accommodation before embarking on an exhilarating full-day safari adventure within the Maasai Mara National Reserve, with a primary focus on wildlife viewing, photography, and videography. During this period, we have the opportunity to witness the great migration. If the stars align in our favor, we may have the privilege of observing lions, cheetahs, elephants, zebras, hippos, and a variety of other wildlife species in their natural habitat.
After breakfast, we will go on a captivating journey into the heart of Maasai culture. Our day begins with a unique opportunity to experience life in a Maasai village, where we’ll gain profound insights into their customs, traditions, and daily existence. We’ll have the privilege of connecting with the warm and welcoming Maasai people, diving deep into their rich heritage. Together, we’ll engage in a wide range of cultural activities, from joining in traditional dances to trying our hand at crafting exquisite beadwork. The highlight of the day is the enchanting storytelling sessions around the fire, shared with the local Maasai community and ourselves.
We’ll say our goodbyes to our Maasai Mara family and begin our journey as we fly into Zanzibar. Upon arrival and check-in at our new location, we’ll have the opportunity to freshen up and unwind for the day. In the evening, we’ll treat ourselves to a delicious dinner at our location or at local restaurants, savoring the culinary delights that this captivating island has to offer.
We will start the early morning with a journey to Pemba Island, located just 1-2 hours north of our current location. Immerse ourselves in the beauty of its white sand and crystal blue beaches before returning to our accommodation. Later, we’ll venture into Stone Town, the historic soul of Zanzibar, with its charming narrow streets, vibrant markets, and intriguing history. As the day winds down, we will do a memorable dining experience at The Rock Restaurant in Zanzibar, celebrated for its extraordinary seaside setting and delectable seafood.
This day is all about coming together and sharing our thoughts and visions for the company as we look ahead to 2024. The first half of the day will be spent in the comfort of our villa, where we’ll discuss ideas and illuminate the path for our future. This includes brainstorming new trip offerings and developing strategies to advance our mission. In the second half of the day, we’ll enjoy the flexibility to either relax at our accommodations or explore the city further, granting us the freedom to choose how we’d like to spend our time.
Day 11 will be a time for gratitude and reflection on our incredible adventure. We’ll dedicate the day to creating recap content and organizing and archiving all our memories onto hard drives, ensuring everything is neatly stored in one place. In the later part of the day, you’ll have the option to either unwind at our accommodations or venture out into the city, making those last-minute runs for souvenirs, granting you the freedom to shape your final night together as you prefer.
As we reach the final day of our journey, we’re certain that you’ll be departing with cherished memories and newfound friends or even family who have shared this unique, once-in-a-lifetime experience with you. Our driver will accompany us back to the airport, where we’ll take a flight back to Nairobi. From Nairobi, we will continue our journey to the place where our round trip to Nairobi began. It’s a bittersweet goodbye to an unforgettable adventure, but no worries, as we’re already looking forward to our upcoming trip to India next month, promising a beautiful and magical cultural experience.
