The BKT Passport Initiative program aims to spark curiosity around travel by alleviating the financial barrier of procuring passports to our community. Getting a passport is tangible proof that travel is feasible and accessible. It takes things out of a dream land and puts it into reality.
We want people to realize that exploring the world is possible. Getting a passport can be that extra push some need to embark on their international journey, while for others, it opens up the window of possibility and striving for future adventures.
Please note that BKT covers the cost of a passport book for first-time passports only, not renewals or passport cards.
People that receive funding through the BKT Passport Initiative will be awarded with:
• A money order made out directly to the Department of State covering the passport application fee.
• A money order made out directly to the acceptance facility covering the Execution/Acceptance fee.
To apply for the Black Kids Travel Passport Initiative, you must:
– Be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or otherwise eligible, per the requirements of the department of state to obtain a valid US passport.
